You're Back to School - Let Us Write Your Grants

I've never known an educator who wasn't a full-time grant writer for the district that really had time to apply for grants.  The School Funding Center is now writing grants on a contingency basis for 12-month subscribers to our database.
Let us do the tedious work you don't have time to do.

Here's how it works.  You subscribe to our database for 12 months.  You find a grant or grants that match well with your school's needs.  We review your selection to make sure you have better than a 50-50 chance of receiving the grant.
You send us a $500, non-refundable fee for preparing the grant application.  We then apply for the grant.

If you don't get the grant money, you don't owe another penny.  If you do get the grant money, you owe us a percentage of that money (however, the money cannot come from the grant money itself).

We believe that most schools simply don't have the money to hire a full-time grant writer.  We believe that our service is a tremendous alternative to most schools.

Is It Time for a Federal Grant?

Most schools are familiar with Federal funding that comes from formula funds.  These funds are automatically allocated and given to schools based on the number of students living in poverty.  Schools apply for those funds, but they are not in competition for them.  Examples of these funds are No Child Left Behind and Title I.

The Federal government has another class of grants that are discretionary.  That means the Federal government sets up a pool of money to spend to get a project accomplished.
Your school must meet a set of criteria to apply.  Once you apply, the applications are graded, and those with the highest scores receive the money they requested until the pool of money is exhausted.

One good part about these Federal grants is that millions and millions of dollars are often allocated.  That usually means that your grant application can request a lot more money than you can with typical foundation grants.  With more money you should be able to set up a more comprehensive and more effective program.

Unfortunately, with larger sums of money comes greater responsibility on your part.  The application is generally longer and more difficult to complete.  You also usually have to measure the success of your program and sometimes have it evaluated by an entity outside of your school.

There are five Federal grants right now that you might find interesting.  You can locate these and other Federal grants by going to either:  www.grants.gov  or  www.ed.gov

It takes a little searching to find the Federal education grants this way.  Of course, we list all of these grants in The School Funding Center Grant Database, and they are broken down by category.

Don't be discouraged if you don't find a Federal grant immediately that meets your needs.  Grants of one kind or another are announced on almost a weekly basis.
And remember, if you're looking for big money, a Federal grant may be just the way to go.
